Come As You Are

Connection & Collaboration for Women in Mid-Devon

An Invitation

There are extraordinary women in Mid-Devon.
Women building businesses.
Women raising families.
Women navigating change.
Women holding ideas, experience, and connections that could deeply support one another.
And yet… many of us don’t really know each other.

The women of Mid-Devon want to be connected.

Come As You Are has been created to offer a space where that connection can happen — naturally, meaningfully, and without pressure.

What This Is

Come As You Are is a monthly gathering for women across Mid-Devon to connect, collaborate, and support one another.
This is not a traditional networking group.
There is no expectation to perform, impress, or compete.
Instead, we gather as we are — with what we know, what we’re building, and what we need and desire — and we leave more resourced, more connected, more seen, and more supported than when we arrived.

Come as you are. Leave more resourced.

Who It’s For

This space is open to women across Mid-Devon, including:

  • Business owners and professionals
  • Women exploring new ideas or transitions
  • Stay-at-home mums with rich networks and lived experience
  • Creatives, leaders, and community builders

You do not need to be “in business” to belong here.
If you value connection, collaboration, and supporting other women, you are warmly welcome.

How It Will Work (Year One)

The first year of Come As You Are will be a founding year — a chance to establish the group, build relationships, and gently shape what this becomes together.

We will meet monthly, primarily in person at Ashley Court in Tiverton.
Each gathering will include:

  • A warm welcome and space to arrive
  • A short introduction from each woman
  • A moment for one woman to share more fully with the group
  • Time for connection, conversation, and natural follow-up

If a member is unable to attend, she is warmly encouraged to ask someone within the group to speak on her behalf, sharing a few words about her and where she would welcome support, connection, or introduction at that time.

This helps ensure that each woman remains connected and supported, whether she is in the room or not.

Where numbers are insufficient to make an in-person gathering viable, we will meet online via Zoom for that month instead.

Membership & Contribution

To keep the group sustainable, simple, and well-held, there are two elements:

Annual Membership

An annual membership of £100.
This supports:
The organisation and running of the group

  • Ongoing communication and coordination
  • The creation of a connected and supportive community
  • At the end of the year, any surplus from membership will be donated to charity.
  • Members are warmly invited to nominate a charity that is meaningful to them, and one will be chosen at random.

Monthly Gatherings

Each monthly gathering will have a cost of approximately £20–£25, depending on numbers.
This covers:

  • Venue hire
  • Refreshments

Payment will be made in advance directly to the venue (Ashley Court or equivalent) to secure your place.
As costs are committed based on numbers, payments are non-refundable.

A Note on Commitment

This is a space that works best with consistency and intention.
Members are gently encouraged to:

  • Attend regularly
  • Prioritise the monthly gathering where possible
  • Ask someone to speak on their behalf if they are unable to attend

This allows relationships to deepen over time and ensures that each woman remains part of the ongoing conversation.

Shaping This Together

This first year is an experiment in the best sense of the word.

A chance to:

  • Explore what works
  • Listen to what’s needed
  • Build something that genuinely supports the women in this community

Your presence, perspective, and experience will help shape what Come As You Are becomes.

Next Steps

If this speaks to you, you are warmly invited to join us for a founding gathering at Ashley Court.

This will be an opportunity to:

  • Experience the space
  • Meet other women
  • Ask questions
  • Decide whether you’d like to become a founding member

🌿 A Final Thought

This is a space where:

You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You don’t need to present a polished version of yourself.
You don’t need to compete for space or attention.

You are welcome exactly as you are.

And in coming together, we create something more powerful than any one of us alone.
